Default Overcalls with AA

MP is 56/8/41 over 250+. His AFs go 1/1.4/1.6. Only one table read and it was recently: I bet the turn with two small pair after the flop was checked around, then he donkbet the river (overcard) into me with top pair and called a raise. I've got enough hands on the BB to say that he's probably not tight, but that's it for him.

You are so ahead in situations like this that I *almost* like your overcalls on the turn and river. However, given the hand played out, you absolutely have to raise that river to extract value; you have no idea if BB is going to call on the river also after MB bets. MP likes his hand, so value bet.

Spades make me raise the turn. If the board were rainbow, I like your line a lot more.

I almost feel the same way except I'm probably raising a rainbow turn too.

I think on a spadeless board that the BB has a piece and he likes it. If we raise either the turn or river, we're going to push the BB out if we have him beat and we're getting our head jammed in if he or MP has a 6. Sometimes one of these guys has an OESD but I think more often they both have pairs/a 6. If you're definitely going to make 2 bets on both streets, I rather go for the overcall than raise since the results are the same and if either player 3-bets our turn/river raise we're probably toast but still paying it off.
