My first week on Oki, i went with some friends to one of their girlfriend's house. She cooked for us all. Someone left the chopsticks sticking out of his rice and she absolutely flipped out. I mean she went crazy.

In Chinese tradition, saying someone is wearing a "green hat" means they're a cuckold. And that there's nothing funnier to him on St Patricks Day seeing seas of green plastic hats atop drunken (pseudo-)Irish celebrating the day. Sh, it's a secret tho [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

a rice bowl with chopsticks sticking out of them is one of the traditional items at a japanese funeral (food for the journey, etc). As i was raised, it's not so much bad luck as extremely rude.
