Re: 1 more story from a gambler\'s life
[ QUOTE ]
I don't get how you were dealt AA 3 times and couldn't play because it was capped. Otherwise, good story. Kill your friend. [/ QUOTE ] I got dealt Aa three times and of course I played the hand, what I never could was bet or raise because when it was my turn to act, the pot was already capped (meaning you can only bet/raise to an amount of 4 bets) My friend is still alive and we are still very good friends. I do have however a "you owe me a big ,big favor" option with him |

Re: 1 more story from a gambler\'s life
[ QUOTE ]
Did I get the numbers wrong? Because otherwise I'm pretty sure it's a bad fold even if she has the 10. [/ QUOTE ] If you KNOW she has the Ten, it can never be a bad fold. And I would never tell another person in my situation that she had a Ten without being 10000000000% certain. I assumed he would do the same.... Me bad, I admit it |

Re: 1 more story from a gambler\'s life
Maybe a lack of coffee is making me dumb, but it seems to me that you'd certainly have the pot odds to chase a full house.

Never mind. Lack of coffee is making me dumb. I thought the 10 came on the turn.

[ QUOTE ]
Maybe a lack of coffee is making me dumb, but it seems to me that you'd certainly have the pot odds to chase a full house. [/ QUOTE ] I'm sorry, but it seems we are seriously misunderstanding eachother here. 1. The story is not about my decision being bad or not. I know it was bad and I would never dream of not calling in such a situation. 2. In this paricular situation, and knowing how much I can normally trust this particular friend, I assumed that it was 100% certain that the lady had trips. If I make that assumption, no matter how big the pot is or how little it costs me to call, I will never have any kind of odds to call, because I am not chasing anything, I know that I am beaten. |
