Default too weak again?

My last post I thought was an easy fold and everyone advocated raising, so I just want to confirm that I shouldn't have folded here either.

pacific $1/$2, no reads yet(although a scribbled notes furiously for these two guys after the hand)

Hero with Ac-Ah in BB. MP limps, LP limps, SB folds, Hero raises, both call.
flop: Qd,Qc, 3d. Hero bets , MP calls, LP raises.

(at this point I'm thinking he's either got the queen or on flush draw, I'm gonna hope for a non diamond turn and test him then. Anyone advocating 3 betting here, to test if he's got the Q or not?)

Hero calls. Turn is 8d . (DAMN. At this point the only scenarios I could think of for him raising me on the flop are out there now). hero checks, MP wakes up (flush?) and bets, LP calls, hero folds. Bad fold?

Thinking about it after, I should have tested them with a bet on the turn, folding to a raise, does this sound better?

I would 3bet the flop. The hand then plays differently.

You are almost certainly the best hand at this point, 3 bet that flop and come out firing again on the turn. Make the draw pay for it. If you get raised on the turn then it's time to slow down.

Slow down, as in call, check/call river. Or fold?

I think 3-betting on the flop would have made your decision much easier. You can then bet the turn, and then judge on what to do based on the action you get back. To me it really depends on how they both react and what kind of players they are. I think I would fold the turn if it came back as a 3-bet to me.

Make the draw pay for it.
the draw isn't "paying" for the flush. Each bet the goes into the pot increases his EV. You can't 'charge' flush draws on the flop, but you can cut down their odds on the turn with big enough bets.

river was a blank and LP won with a pair of 3's while I stare in incomprehension. I think my problem is I expect people to play with similar thought processes to me. I would never raise a pair of 3's on this board. Maybe I need to start making some of these type raises to fold out people like me... hmmmm, next stop maniacville
