Meaning, Fossilman has our full and dedicated support and others need not apply?

Considering the amount of help and advice fossilman has given me and most of this forum over the last 3-4 years I'd say he deserves it.

It will be a huge shock if he doesn't make the final table with where he stands now. 1st last year followed by a final table would by the greatest accomplishment in poker history, in my opinion.

[/ QUOTE ]

Still way too early for this kind of statement.

[/ QUOTE ]

In my opinion I don't think so, The way he worked his stack last year showed me he is one of the best big stack poker players in the game, to me this gives him a huge chance at making the final table. Anyway I guess I should take away the word "shock" and say I would be suprised if he didn't make the final table.

[/ QUOTE ]

no no no, it IS still way too early for this type of statement. you realize that getting through 185 great players, even with a giant stack will take a tremendous effort. have we decided how many chips it will take to reach the final table yet? 10 million? 20 million? there are more than enough bumps along the way to knock him off course. of course i have serious confidence greg is more than a good enough player to continue dominating this field. everyone ive seen in the last 24 hours i wanted to tell them what a great accomplishment was going on and how history is being made. IF greg makes the final table we can just stop talking about greatest accomplishments in the world series, because no one else would be close. but would it be a "huge shock" if he didnt make the final table? no no no.

Average stack at final table will be ~6 million. When someone gets to half that amount, they can start to feel good about their chances to get there.

I hope Greg wins it all. I disagree with those saying that it wouldn't be good for poker. All sports need superstars. Jordan was great for basketball. Armstrong is great for cycling. Greg can be in that category if he pulls it off. Go Greg!

CURSES! MET WIFE GETS BOOT

ANNA Benson, the outrageous wife of Mets pitcher Kris Benson, raised a whole lotta hell in Las Vegas last weekend. The buxom former stripper was ejected from the World Series of Poker at the Rio on Saturday for excessive cursing. After serving a 10-minute penalty for dropping the "f-bomb," a violation of tournament rules, Benson returned and asked her dealer, "Does that mean I can't say any other word? I can say c - - t, p - - - y and c - - k, but I can't say f - - k?"

Greg clearly has tremendous skills, especially with a big stack, and has to be one of the favorites to make the final table at this point, but it would still be a "surprise"; I'd say well less than 50-50 to make it, even as good as Raymer is. All it takes is a couple of hands being on the wrong end of AA-KK, AA-TT, etc., and you're stuck with a below average stack and an uphill climb.

FYP.

Greg's a great player, but making the final table in a world class field with 185 players left would be an outstanding acheivement and a big shock.

Saw Greg at the Pokerstars booth (WSOP Lifestyle Show) Friday. As usual, he was being a great ambassador for poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was fortunate enough to play with Greg at the final table of a super sat (Foxwoods Act III) this past Spring, and he was not only very funny, but seemed to me to be an overall really nice guy with no hint of an attitude.

We both qualified for the main event, and I had a chance to thank him for his contributions to 2+2 while they were printing out our winners coupons.

I agree it would be quite an accomplishment, however say you were in his shoes as the chip leader with 185 left, wouldn't you be mightily upset with yourself if you didn't at least get within striking distance of the final table?
