Default Sklansky has 111K after day one

Surprised to not see a thread on this already. Go David!

Well, two every hand. They get like 20 hands and hour off. So assuming they played 8 hours.... thats 320 aces?

I realize people like to joke and I also realize that David did get aces a disproportionate number of times in the episode in question, but things like that happen at some point to everyone. Certainly all of his past and future accomplishments shouldn't be tainted by the fact that one day at one event he got more than a normal share of a premium holding. Let's not forget that at the end of the day the man had a hand in writing all three of the best poker books of all time (TOP, HEPFAP, and SSH).

I'm always amazed at the general willingness to discount DS's ability.

I mean probably every major poker player out there, with the possible exception of DN, has probably read one of his books. They might have helped their games, they might not, but everyone reads his books.

I'd think that to get such market penetration, he must have something to say, and if he has something to say, there's just this chance that he might have some clue as to how to apply his own principles.

Invariably it has something to do with society accepting the cliche about "those who can, do, and those who cannot, teach," but people should really remember it's not like he ONLY teaches poker -- the man played (and continues to play) successfully at stakes most people on this board would be far less proficient at.

Many of us have made thousands of dollars purely on applying lessons learned from 2+2, it seems wholly unreasonable to then intentionally or unintentionally mock in any way those who have made such profits possible.

I'm really glad David's been tearing it up lately as too long has gone by where people have the asinine attitude of "yeah, his books are good, but I never hear about him winning tournaments."

Now if we could get Mason scoring on a WPT episode, all of the naysayers would finally have all their nonsensical notions neutered.

When he said that I could just picture Sklansky trembling in fear at having to play these 'no-limit experts'.

I'm sure David thought, "How will I ever be able to compete with such talented and gifted players?"
