Default 44 vs. LPP

Villain is a delightful 67/3/.8

Should I be raising the turn donk bet for value? Too passive on the river?

Thanks for all comments.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls, Hero calls, 2 folds, BB checks.

Flop: (3.33 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets, UTG folds, Hero raises, BB calls.

Turn: (3.66 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

River: (5.66 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 5.66 BB

Edit: Thinking about the hand further, I think the best line may be to smooth call the turn and bet the river. I don't want to prematurely fold a worse hand on the turn, and I need to get to a showdown here cheaply if I'm behind. Yes?

i'd prolly fold, given villains passiveness and the small size of the pot.

I play it like you did. Unless he never bluffs or bets A-high on paired flops--then you can fold the turn. A river bet has negative value.

I don't see how it has negative value. This check screams A high IMO and he will call with that, maybe even K high. If he raises it is an easy fold.

This is what I was thinking too. My feeling is that a .8 AF coupled with a VP$IP that high is actually not that passive. As it happens, villains AF is now up to about 1.4 after 50 more hands so my initial read wasn't as trustworthy as I thought.

Villain turned over A5 and MHIG.

Thanks all for the comments.

Why does it scream A-high? I think it screams "3 that is afraid of the 6" or "PP that is afraid of the J". His flop and turn bets certainly didn't scream A-high did they?

Not saying definitely A high, just the chance is somewhat higher than a 3. 3-ways even passives bet A high on a flop like this knowing they likely have the best hand.

It's certainly a possibility which is why I plan to see a showdown from the moment of his turn bet. But I don't think he has A-high or worse anywhere close to 50% here when he calls on the river.
