Default 5/10 Somewhat common situation

Players Hero Villian ShortStack(SS)

Hero and villian have about 1000 and short stack has 160.
Villian is solid and SS is loose.

Hero is CO with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and opens for $40
SS is Button and calls, Villian is BB and calls.

Flop ($125) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero bets 90, SS goes all in for 120, BB calls the 120..now its 30 more to me, or I can raise.

Looks like a pretty easy shove to me. Am I missing something?

That is ridiculous you can raise there.
However if you can, I would definitely raise. The pot is already very large and there are way too many draws out there. Villain appears to either be slowplaying or drawing, both would mean a bet is correct. (Unless he has the straight in which case you are *^&*ed.)

I'd like to hear an argument for why re-raising all in isn't the only play to make here.

PSB is like $600 leaving us with just $360 left, and we HAVE to put it in on any turn card.

Besides, maybe BB will interpret it as isolation with a flush draw or something.

there you have it.

Yeah I made it about 450 more, basically committing him. I think he had 10,10 or JJ because he thought a long time about it, then folding.

The SS had 6d8d for a nice draw, but another 8 came on the turn and i filled up. I figured everybody made a big bet here, but just wanted to make sure.

One theory might be to min raise to 240 or whatever thinking that if the SS has diamonds and one comes you can still win a side pot from the Villian, but i don't think this is any good.

Its not really that interesting (or common) a spot when you have top set. Give yourself JJ or TT and there's more room for discussion. Even there its hugely player-dependent.

You cant raise unless you played at Prima that have this "bug" (maybe some other sites have it as well).
