I don't think his skills are slipping that much.

[/ QUOTE ]

He just seems to be loose passive instead of the loose aggressive player he portrays himself to be in his books.

His next book will be titled "How I whored every last buck out of poker since I can't even use my super system to win anymore".

[/ QUOTE ]

He only consistently beats the biggest cash games around.

[/ QUOTE ]

His tournament record has been lacking for many years, despite recent limite success. My point is he is getting old and cashing in anyway he can--even with fake takeovers...

[/ QUOTE ]

I repeat - he is one of the few people who consistently beats the biggest cash games. He cashed 1st for over a million dollars within the last year in a tournament.

You've probably seen 150 hands of NLH tourny play from Doyle (most of which he probably folded preflop) and you know he's loose/passive? Don't be retarded.

Wandering through a bookstore the other day and saw the Cardoza pub "online poker" by DB. I started laughing pretty hard. I probably should have actually opened it but I didnt bother.

Don't bother. Flipped through it the other day and it's basically an ad for Doyle's Room with very obvious advice.
You can play in your pajamas, the rake is lower, don't have to tip........

Hi Snowball:

I disagree with you a little. In my opinion, Doyle is a good guy, and he has certainly been good for the game. I just think he is getting some bad advice.

Furthermore, if this book is as poor as I'm hearing, and the others that come are of similar quality, it will greatly damage his reputation, and that would be a shame.

best wishes,
Mason

It seems he got some really bad advice about that WPT bid that looks like a pump and dump. I'm quite surprised we haven't heard anything more about that. That story died very quickly.

Doyle seems like a great guy. Its hard to imagine that there will ever again be a player who, over three decades, has capably promoted poker with such charisma and enthusiasm. I think Doyle genuinely loves the game, and is a great role model for future poker ambassadors.

So, that said, I still think that writing quality material that will improve my game is no longer a top priority for him. And like I said, I don't fault him for that. I'm sure his internet book will have some kind of positive impact on internet poker.
