Default 1st time B&M

Do you buy in at the table or must you come to the table with chips?

It depends on the casino.

Just ask the floor person what you should do when they are seating you.

Buy in at the table. I hate carrying around a rack of clay chips. Those things are heavy.

Agreed. Next time I play 3/6 I'm just buying three racks of $1 chips. Maybe it's somehow +/- EV... but I just like to have lots of chips.

That said, if you're standing around waiting for a table for an hour, you might as well just buy at the table.

You ask the floor or brush when you come into the room what the proper procedures are.

in addition, I suggest you read this post and thread...
