How well do those handheld units work? I'd like to get one to use while I'm in the office, but not sure if I could pick it up.

I've tried using a GeoXT (if you don't know what they are, it's one of the better handheld GPS units you can get from Trimble) and I can't get any sats indoors. Not sure if sat radio works different?

I originally bought the boombox but could not get reception in both home and office.

The only way you can expect to get reception in an office builing is if you are in a window office and you can open your window to squeeze the antenna cord outside the window.

otherwise your [censored] out of luck

as far as handheld units, sirius does not make a mobile handheld unit, they have the Ipod looking this but all that does is record 50 hours of broadcasts for replay but you need to buy the home docking kit.

right now I'm content with 100% reception in car and home.

if I really need it at work I'll pick up the recordable device

Know your radio shack's though. Around here you either get help from a david sklasky looking guy who probably invented the vaccum tube, or a retarded monkey who flings poop at you when you ask where the patch cables are.

Thanks for the info. I hate goes to stores anymore because most places don't give commission so it leaves the salesperson not really caring to know the products well.

good call, I know the owner at the one near my house and their employees are always trained goot.

I went to the other local radio shack, was about to buy a bunch of [censored] for my stereo and video system, the retard couldn't ring it up correctly and then this guy ANSWERS HIS CELL PHONE in the middle of trying to ring me up.

I flipped my lid, told him he can keep all this stuff and I walked out.

That pissed me off.
