Default Turn play

You open raise from the cutoff with AJs. Folded to the sb (23/15/2.5), who 3-bets. You call.

Flop comes K-high 2 of your suit. sb bets, you raise, sb calls.

Turn is an ace. sb checks. What's your preferred play?

a). Bet and call a check/raise if it comes.

b). Bet and 3-bet a check/raise if it comes.

c). Check and call (or bet) the river.

in a live game, i might check it... in the party 30 i think checking gives up too much when hes calling you down NO MATTER WHAT with a PP.
i dont like threebetting a CR here bc youd have to call if capped it...
so bet/call

Are you calling a river bet UI if you get c/r and call the turn?

15% PFR for Villain? Hrm...he could be raising with many, many hands from the SB. Especially if he's defending against what he thinks is a blind steal. I like option "a." You're ahead way too often for me to like "c," unless you think checking will induce a bet (or a check-call) from Villain on the end, whereas he may check-fold the turn. I don't like "b." If he's check-raising you here, you probably need to catch up. What if he 4-bets your 3-bet? Now you still need to see the river to try to make your flush, but if you miss, folding is almost certainly correct. Yet the pot is now ginormous. This feels icky.

So, all things considered, I bet and call a check/raise. I then call any river. But if his AF were smaller, I'd probably throw this hand away to a river bet (provided I don't hit my flush, d-uh).

Live-game, I agree.

Online, I default to the value of AF. I call the river UI.

I find 3-bet criteria to sometimes be dangerously out of sync with PFR%.

I lean towards the same way of thinking about pp. Betting usually holds too much value. However, I wasn't sure about this situation. Checking looks so right here.

Without a player read the he is tight 3 betting here in what looks like a steal situation, I think betting and calling a raise is the best move. Seems silly to 3 bet since if we think we are ahead we can get that bet back on the river, yet when behind we have to call the cap. I do not think we are ever getting a free show down that we want here (i.e. if we get it we dont want it).
