Default Party Step Higher (crosspost)

I am soon to play my first step higher step 4 and after looking at the payout structure have a question. I am beginning to think that trying to finish in the 3'rd or 4'th position and taking the guaranteed 3K to 3.5K may be a better strategy than actually trying to qualify for the step 5 (on your first try at least). If you could do this it gives you approximately 100 buy ins at the step higher 1 level. Thoughts?

I have thought about the same thing. If the money means something to you just do it.
Maybe as an ironic comment, you should watch out for other players trying to achieve the same. You might find yourself into step 5 even if you don't want it, lol

Good luck to you

The newest wave in poker - Who is the best loser???

If you are going for cash it might be wise to start "trying" to lose when there are 5 or 6 left. That way you'll hopefully be shortstacked when it gets 4-handed.

You're right this is really screwed up. May be better off finishing 3'rd than winning.
