very easy question for you math pros.
There are 8 different statistics books, 6 different geometry books, and 3
different trigonometry books. A student must select one book of each type. How many different ways can this be done? |

[/ QUOTE ] For each stats book he can pick any of 6 geo books and 3 trig books. This is pretty basic, 8*6*3= 144. You can visualize it by drawing a tree of all the different books and then counting the total number of paths, though you might want to use smaller numbers cause it could get messy with these. |
