Default Raise the turn?

I'm a really bad turn player so far I think

PokerStars 0.05/0.10 Hold'em (5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
2 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (6 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls.

Turn: (5 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

River: (7 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 9 BB

He's lead out wtih TPTK before and just called my raise (capped the river when he hit trips and I beat him with my FB tho ). So I'm really not too sure

The only thing you are really punishing is a hand like KdQd here. More often than not, you fold a much weaker hand here by raising, when you would rather have them stick around bet into you on the river. I like a call.

Ya raise him on the turn. Depending on the opponent, most won't bet out with a straight draw on the flop. I think at worst here you'll see villain has two pair on the turn, but you have plenty of outs to beat him if you are actually behind (Four 8s, and the 6 cards that can pair up to counterfeit his two pair).

You don't think villain will call a raise, and a river bet with a pair of nines?

I disagree, but I am still raising this turn for a different reason: It is likely we still have the best hand. Reads are very critical here. Many opponents will bet into a flop raiser on the turn with unimproved TP.

i had 2 similar situations happend yesterday. i can't seem to figure out why someone would stop-n-go here.

thinking about this hand (reads help..but who doesn't know that?!), what seems to really help is taking your thinking a step further from what do you think he has to what do you think he thinks you have.

i think he has a pair of 9s, thinks you have UI overcards and when the turn comes a blank, bets again. any other hand (trip 9s, made straight) would c/r here IMHO.
