It's not my preferred, but I don't have a problem with it until the river where I think you should bet.

I do this a lot. I think it comes from training myself that when it's raised to me my one-pair hand needs to re-raised or folded I don't want to fold. Folding sucks.

When UTG called 2-cold, I can only put them on the flush draw or the over pair. Checking the river looks good to me.

I could imagine that you don't want to bet the river if you think:
- Villain will not call with a worse hand
- Villain might check behind with a better hand
- you're not sure what to do if Villain raises your bet

Without any reads on Villain I find it hard to say if you should bet the river or not.

Hearts didn't get there and i am pretty sure he'd bet with 10s ot worse, raise with a K or better and fold to a bet more the 50% of the time with no pair...Still think its a bet?

Since the hearts missed I think he will pretty much bet only when you're beaten by the obvious hand range whereas he'll call with a much wider range hoping to pick off a desperate bluff in a big pot from a missed heart draw.
