Re: very scary turn, after checkraising the flop
c'mon, somebody help me out. I mean, If I my raise had gotten me heads up with the PF raiser, as I had hoped it would, I would fire again. But against 2 players?
i think the PF raiser was chasing with overcards. He could have AQ, but then again, he could have AK. Also, the button might have called my flop raise with a flush draw, but he might also have called with something like A7. I have no idea whether I'm ahead or behind right now. Do I bet, hoping the turn scares my opponents as much as it scares me, or do I figure it probably helped one of them, and shut down? |

Re: very scary turn, after checkraising the flop
I think there is very little chance you are still ahead here - you may have been behind on the flop anyways - I like a check and see what develops - if someone makes a real bet here I would likely fold - the check-call a raise on the flop is usually either a monster or a draw - either way you are now beat by him

Re: very scary turn, after checkraising the flop
I dont like the check raise on the flop. 99 is a fragile hand and it should be protected on a flop of 3 under cards with 2 clubs. you should be betting the pot as fast as you can here, and you may have gotten the opponent to play it differently. At these low limit games, if you bet the pot, and you get a call almost instantly, i put the person on a draw. Usually when someone is going to flat call you with a monster, they at least think about raising first and act slower than a draw does. On the turn, you could check/fold or put out a tester bet and fold to a raise. But i think that the best way to avoid this would be to act first and try to take the pot early.

use the converter or go through the effort of making this easy to read if you want people to take the time and effort to respond with intelligible posts.

Re: very scary turn, after checkraising the flop
Here's what I was thinking with the check-raise. I wasn't sure if my 9's were good. The pf raiser was right after me, so I figured he would bet. I figured if someone came back hard, I would just let the hand go. but since he bet weak and no one played back, I figured my 9's were probably good.
