Default reads in live? (LC)

Stupid question but anyway...

I have never played live, only online and that handhistory button is superb for getting reads on people. Pertty much ALL my reads come from the handhistories; I look what kind of hands did the bet/raise/check-raised etc.

But when playing live and you bet the river and villain calls. You show nut-flush and I guess he mucks --> I can't see his hand, right?

--> is making reads much harder live than in online?

If it's a called hand, you can request to see any called hand in most rooms. Some rooms only allow those players involved in the showdown to request. It's more to guard against collusion but it works both ways on this one.

And on the making reads part, this probably should go into the psychology forum.
