lately im seeing things that arent there

the past week or so has been a bit odd for me. i have misread numbers and words several times, and in some instances misread the same numbers over and over.

an example of this is that i was playing stratego a few days ago and used my 4 to kill his 4, only to find out that his officer was a 3 after we had a 10 minute arguement over it and he proved i was wrong (the piece was mixed in with the dead pile).

stuff like this has happened before to me, but not nearly as regularly as it has recently.

i have been trying to withdraw money onto my neteller debit card for several days now but wasnt able to because i thought there was some sort of problem with the website, only to find out today after i had spoke with tech support for at least an hour that it was in fact me misreading the numbers.

ironically i just posted this thread in the probability forum thinking it was this and moved the thread here after i clicked psychology only to find my thread wasnt there.

is this weird or just a normal cluster of weirdness? any insight?

If this continues, I recommend seeing a neurologist (not a psychologist or a psychiatrist). There are many detrimental things that can happen to your brain, and some of them can be treated.

Have you ever read that book by Oliver Sacks called 'The man who mistook his wife for a hat'? Its really good. It goes through a lot of different disorders that people suffer. A lot of people seem totally normal and are very functional in most of the areas of their lives but have sever deficiencies in other areas.

How old are you. It sounds like it may be time for glasses. Do you have any trouble or discomfort when you read? Do you have to bring the reading material closer to you or further away? Ya probably need to have your eyes checked.
