4 big post-flop hands
Here are four hands from yesterday. My post-flop decisions on each one cost me an entire buy-in.
Two of these I would have won by staying in; two I would have saved by folding. Overall, I was up 5 buy-ins for the day, so I'm not complaining. But if I'd gotten these right, my profits would have nearly doubled. Comments? Insight? Derision? Laughter? Hand 1: KK facing opposition Hand 2: Flopped a set, possible straight Hand 3: Weak TPTK Hand 4: Rivered KK vs flush possibility Hand 1-- Across 68 hands, opponent is 12% VP$IP. I don't have significant post-flop data on him. Re: 4 big post-flop hands
1. bet more on the flop. if you didnt bet more, then call the small turn raise and be careful on the tbier
2. bet a lot more on the flop 3. fold 4. blockbet the river or check-call a small bet. your action strongly depends on your opponent here |

Re: 4 big post-flop hands
Hand 1: Bet flop more. Call turn and see what he does river wise. No way you should fold. Also find a better opponent at those stakes.
Hand 2: Bet $1 or more on the flop. Call the turn and jack up his river bet if you boat. If you don't you can make an opponent-specific decision, but it's still probably a call unless you really know your guy. Hand 3: Hero folds. Hand 4: Hero raises more preflop or doesn't raise at all. Hero bets $4 at the end because he has no reason to suspect opponent has a flush. Hero folds to large raise, calls min raise, and usually wins. |
