"The only way to find out is to either bet or call the river"

I respectfully disagree... with a final board of 66862 I can't bet or call the river with my baby flush, as with 4 in I'm sure somebody has some kind of pair for a full house.

Betting the turn and folding to a raise was the best play I think, and if I don't take it down right then and there I can't even call a bet on the river when the third six falls.

"I don't post hands I play correctly here... who cares about those? I make two mistakes in a night, then I post them here to make sure they were mistakes."

Maybe you should post a few hands that you played "right," because in loose games, what you think it correct may be leaving a lot of bets on the table. You thinking on this hand was truly flawed all the way, and Louie's advice was right-on, as usual. I suspect that you have more to learn than you think!

BTW: I KNOW that I make more than 2 mistakes a night when I play, but most of them are small, and probably not worth that much. It's not the quantity of mistakes, it's the "quality" that can make or break your bankroll.

Just food for thought, because I'm Just Another Sucker.

Fair enough. Louie's advice was very very solid, and I'll take all of it into account next time I'm faced with a similiar situation.

As for your comments about posting hands I've played 'correctly', well, I guess I'll make a stronger effort to remember them when I go to the club tonight.

For some reason the hands I botched are the ones I can recall best at the end of the night. And I'm sure I make more than two mistakes a night, too.

"Sooo..... you would have bet out on the turn?"

yes. and louie explained it very well. they will have to stop and think before raising as youre obviously representing a flush. it can also make the hand easier to play.

not sure what this was in response to.

anyways,,,

it's a nice thread though

hi all
as long as you're not trapped between two raisers, it's ok to call 1 bet. you should likely lay it down though for a raise.
