Re: What to do with a scary river.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] if one of them had two pair they would have probally check-raised the turn, which the hero would have then re-raised hoping they had AQ or a smaller two pair and not a set. but since 2 players checked-called him to the river and a 3-flush hit the board there was a good chance 1 of them was chasing it. [/ QUOTE ] I completely agree with this. This is an easy check. [/ QUOTE ] Can I borrow your purse? |

Re: What to do with a scary river.
[ QUOTE ]
UTG+1 had a river aggro factor of 6, and there is no way Im laying down to that. [/ QUOTE ] I really doubt that Pokey has enough hands on UTG+1 to suggest that the river AG factor is statistically very meaningful. Nonetheless, I bet and payoff a checkraise every time. |

What hands are you afraid of? Flush? 56o?

Re: What to do with a scary river.
play this passive from weak players strongly suggests a drawing hand. I'd check this too.

[ QUOTE ]
Actually I think Im with the nit on this one. Rolf...way to screw me up. Knocka too. I dunno, I think I feel a good ole CR coming on. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry to bump this old thread, but I want to clarify something here. I was not advocating checking behind. This is the clearest f[/i]ucking value bet in the world. My question was why we have to pay off a check/raise. |

Re: What to do with a scary river.
I think thier aggression factors would force them to come out betting, not check raise, knowing the scare card hit, and maybe try to push you off a hand like AQ. Betting here is an absolute unless you know the players well enough to know they only just call down on draws (which at 2/4) is very common. And the 5 hits 2 draws... double trouble.
I have seen players fold here... I have to a check raise, but only with incredible notes. " Ultra Tight, plays odds, only bets (often check raise) living nuts" But I think I still make a crying call. a lot of loose 2/4-5-10 players call down with suited conectors and back door draws. I definetely understand your fear. |
