Ok Rizen, I hope you don't take too much offense to this, but the more you respond to this thread the more useless your original post becomes. You haven't really given any specific examples where you would do a somewhat non standard push. I mean overall the content to be gained in this thread seems to be "I sometimes push with an M of 20, but it depends." And I still disagree that open pushing with QQ is maximizing your EV, when you have an M of 20-- almost ever.

No offense taken. I genuinely appreciate the feedback, negative or positive. Although I believe I probably did a bad job in my original post of continuing the conversation from last night.

An example of a QQ push for me would be with the blinds 100/200 (no antes) with 2800 chips and in MP1 I would push a fair amount.

i'm all for avoiding difficult situations but this seems pretty extreme ... in fact, it seems as if this kind of massive overbet helps your opponents more than it helps you as it all but prevents them from making the sort of mistakes that you'd normally want (i.e calling a standard raise with dominated Qx hands or dominated pairs) and all but ensures that you'll only be called by AA, KK, or AK (and a less likely AQs)

also, is there a way to account for the increasing likelihood of being called if you're perceived as being a pushbot? even if you're a favorite in each of these all-in confrontations, don't the odds of your survival decrease with each successive confrontation?

I don't know what tournaments you have been playing lately.

ok, maybe i'm being too narrow and should expand the range to JJ+ but what hands normally call 14x BB all-in open-raises?

It depends.

If you're at a very good table, probably 77, maybe 88+ if they are closing the action. AK, maybe AQs. If you're at a bad table, AJ, 55+.

If you are closing the action and someone pushes for 14 bbs from MP, do you fold jacks? tens? I don't think I fold 9s even.

It also depends on the avg stacks at the table. If its a very deep table, then the calling ranges are wider. If its short, you might get a fold out of 88 and 99.

ansky kind of answered the question for me. To be quite honest in my personal experience I get called by lower PPs here quite often. I've RARELY been called by less than 88, but it has happened.
