This IS Pineapple.

When you discard after the flop it's Crazy Pineapple.

This game is known as "fifty-five" or "Cincinnati" - the nut peddling will now commence.

Great game for rocks - if you don't start with a monster you'll rarely wind up with one.

Exception - draws to a 4 card wheel that allow for a straight flush

There is a section in a John Scarne book that deals with strange variants; trust me when I tell you it is the only worthwhile part of this book.

It's shocking what passed for "how to manuals" prior to the late 70s publication of SuperSystem, TOP, HoldemPoker, HFAP).

NO, this is not "cincinnati."

Cincinnati is 5 card draw + Holdem community cards and rules... best 5 of your remaining ten

Although I just googled it Cincinnati poker and the first site I read discribed a game where you are initially dealt 5 hole cards then the community cards come out one at a time to 5 and best 5 of your liking win.
-there was someone in my old (2 years ago) home poker game that used to call "lame brain pete" which is cincinnati only low hole or lowest on board is wild. If you don't have quads or better, you probably should have mucked last round.

Minnesota Hold'em:

Everyone is given six cards in their hand, then there is a flop, a turn, a river, then there are two more streets. Use any combination.

This is only good as a drinking game, where you have to finish your drink each time you lose your chips.

From my home game. We call it Blue Steel (why, I don't know, and I was there the night it was invented)

Zoolander. Someone must've just watched it. (Though maybe it refers to the fact that Zoolander gives you as much of a headache as this game you invented )

Pretty much every variation I've ever made up involves profound drinking.

Best was NL 5 card draw, deuces through fives, (yes, deuces through fives) wild. Folding quads was common, and getting out-quinted was a relatively common occurance.

Drink an ounce for every (arbitrary value) chip you lose in a pot, so that only the winner can escape drinking on any particular round.

in vegas a guy sittin next to me told me about 'river of blood holdem' i duno if everyone already knows about it but its pretty fun:

holdem as usual, if the river is a red suit, then another card is dealt with another betting round, if that card (6th street) is red, then you deal 7th street, and continue until a black card comes.

I don't claim credit for any of these, but they're fun...

Double Flop Hold'em

Just like hold'em, but you deal two boards simultaneously. You split the pot between the winners for each board.

Double Hand Hold'em

Just like hold'em, but every player gets two hands. You play the hands independently of each other, with the caveat that you can't raise yourself.

Texas F*&^'em

Just like hold'em, except after the river you deal a 6th community card. The leader on the river usually says "F&*^" when sucked out on the last card.

I'd like to play Hold'em with one change being that BOTH your cards and only three cards from the board must play like in Omaha, that should get rid of the runner runner bs
