I really can't see raising this river, he won't call unless you have been playing like zeebo.

i suppose it depends on your view of him at the time, and his view of your play up to this point. i can really see something like 25 being played this way. a raise on the river is absolutely atrocious. i would never fault anyone for calling, but i dont think a fold is that bad. of course.. thats me viewing the hand after it was played.. if i was involved in the pot id prolly go ahead and call, but i wouldnt be super happy about it. holla

i'm not good enough to fold this on the river and I certainly don't play at this level.

That said, the size of his river bet is interesting. he can't expect a 7 to call and bluffing representing the boat rarely works so why that size?

I think 65 and 53 are both hands you will see often. The boat doesnt seem to make sense, I don't see him check calling turn with 2 pair but maybe 54 or 52 is possible.

Little value in a raise IMO.

About the only realistic hand that I could see him playing this way that beats you is 52, I think he's betting or raising the turn with bigger two pair or a set.

So call, you should be good more than 50% of the time.

Turn check is suspicious, but would a made boat feel obligated to bet such a large amount on the river for value?

Were you thinking of folding or raising? Just wondering where the confusion is.

This was intentional. While most think this is call/fold, imo it is call/raise- however I don't really know if i can describe why. I guess the main part is his turn check/call, and river lead; i can't think of many combos which would do this that beat me. However El D like (and probably moreso than), most in this game is a tricky player. While I would rarely stack off in a limped in pot this way; I felt that this hand I was way ahead of his hand range.

However there wasnt much I could think of that I beat which would call a raise. 35,56, and maybbbbbbe a5/58 seemed the only likely combos which probably pay off. A weirdly played a7/88-TT would probably occasionally call as well.

I think that this is just call spot. If I have to choose between raising and folding I would prefer raising.. the problem with raising IMHO is that overpairs and lucky made trips wont call you often enough to make up for what you lose against fullhouses...
