Florida -4 v Florida State POTW#13

Ok...I lied and I'm picking past Big10 season

This week I like Florida -4 v Florida State

I usually shy away from rivalries blah blah blah; but I went with OSU/Mich last week, so I'm going with this one this week.

FSU has struggled to score against legitimate teams. Florida's defense is legitimate. It may not be Miami, but the Gators are allowing only 285 ypg against their decent schedule. FSU tb Washington will be back but is still on a gimpy ankle. It will be freshman QB Weatherford's job to get things going. However, FSU's offense has looked pathetic in tough road environs...see losses to BC, Virginia, and Clemson. It will not get more rockous for the Seminoles than at the Swamp. Expect another ugly performance from the FSU offensive group that will stir memories of that Miami game earlier in the year.

On the other side of the ball, FSU's defense will not quite be as stingy as expected. Both starting defensive ends are injured. So the other members of a D that gave up only 296 yards per game will be put to the test in overcoming the bookend absences. They didn't do such a good job verse Clemson. Looking at the Gators scoring this year, they were held down at Alabama(3), v Tennesse (16), and at LSU (17). Against a beleagured FSU defense, I expect to see at least 20.

My prediction is a 24-13 win for the Gators.
