N'Western/Ohio State Under 57 POTW#11

I'm 6-4 POTW ytd Damn .500 is getting to close, so I've come up with a good one to push me back ahead.

I really like Northwestern/Ohio St. Under 57 this week.

OK...I've commented on the Ohio St/NW game in the thread on that game. In that thread, I predicted 35-17 final. Looking closer, I'm not so sure it will get that high. I know NW is blessed on offense and I've sung its praises alot, but the Buckeye D is just too good. Look for Kudla(57) and Hawk(47) to be in Basanez face all day. He will get no room and be lucky to finish the game in one peace. Sutton will probably give his obligatory fumble. The receivers will be pressed to gain space against the speed of the Ohio State D. I restate that Ohio State got a good warmup last week against the same offensive scheme as NW when they faced the Illini. Sure, it's the JV version, but it's damn good live practice.

Ohio State will put up points on the swiss cheese D known as Northwestern, but it will not be enough to put this one over. Sure NW gave up 52 to Arizona State, 48 to Wisconsin, 37 to Northern Ill, 34 to Penn State, 33 to Michigan, 29 to Purdue, and 27 to Iowa. Given that...I think about 33 looks right on for the Buckeyes. They will stretch the Cats deep like Arizona State, but they will also run the ball and keep the clock down.

My revised prediction is 33-16.
