Default Wynn\'s blackjack--will it be worth it?

I'm returning to my first casino game--blackjack. I've been
reading the Cardoza version of Blackbelt in Blackjack and I'm going to give counting a shot (despite all of the soft 17 tables on the Strip).

Is Wynn's going to open on time? From appearances, not that likely. But when it does open (no more lane closures!)
will the blackjack be worth it? How big will I have to play?

Input appreciated.

Skip the strip.

Thats my motto.

The Plaza downtown has DD, stay on all 17's and resplit A's up to 4 hands total rules. Standard shoe game rules without surrender. That is the single BEST blackjack of any type in the city.

Does DD mean double after splits? So with a 6 deck shoe what's the off the top EV with perfect play? -.4%? Can you even beat that game without a big player? And that's the best BJ game left in Town? Yikes.

Default the visit

Made a fast trip to see this place. Delayed an hour due bad accident at Basin Road, so time was short. Crowded.

Minuses: few restrooms, narrow walkways, clueless buffet staff (one-hour wait with empty tables in view), poor to marginal blackjack games (lots of soft 17 tables, 70-75% penetration in the shoe games).

Pluses: not many right now. Casino is actually pretty small compared to the other large resorts. Sportsbook is
great with high limits and a dime baseball line to about -150. Ticker is the best in Vegas. Unfortunately baseball wagers (Mariners--even left my mother on base--with one run in, 2nd and 3rd no outs in ninth, couldn't get go-ahead run in; and Diamondbacks--the less said the better).

Passed on the blackjack. Played the 15-30 holdem for about three hours and just coudn't get anything going.

A lot of 1.0 problems. Many kinks need to be worked out.

Just got a report on the Double Deck bj games at Wynn. The ones at the front of the casino are 6:5 payouts H17. Talk about a bad game.

If this goes over well, expect MGM and Harrahs to jump on that bandwagon for what little DD games they have left and really start to screw the customer.

At the back of the club they had DD H17 BJ with ~1.5D penetration. One dealer, who recognized me from another casino, even made a point of showing me the cut point engraved in the plastic and bragging about how the penetration was greater at the Wynn than at that dealer's former casino.
