I second the Hilltop Inn - shuttles run very late but not 24hrs back and forth. Rates can get gougy if you wait too long though.

One possible way to get the cost down on the Hilltop is through Priceline... if you select "North Stonington" and search for 3 stars (their rating for the Hilltop), there's a good chance that's what you'll get. I got it for $60/nt back in mid-January.

What about the Two Trees Inn?

Note this is for a friend(not peachy) whom is without internet access right now, so nothing more is needed but a bed and a shower. He is looking for something very basic, not too pricey...just somewhere to sleep in between sessions (similar to what I'd be looking for).

The Two Trees Inn seems to be the cheapest I've found so far up there, and has pretty good ratings.

Sure, don't speak up in defense of the Flagship. I guess it didn't mean anything to you...

They have a poker rate but they rarely have rooms available--the midweek rate is higher than the Borgata. I think Evan and I payed $90 for a room in January.

I've never stayed there, but I know people who like it.

I reserved a room there from the poker room once during a snowstorm, but my buddy and I ended up deciding the roads were too bad to drive to it. The people I spoke too were friendly and let me cancel my reservation even though I had confirmed it with a credit card.
