Re: (55) fishy limp-call?
Yah this is pretty awful, you are gonna get bet off of your hand a good % of the time.
If you were getting odds to implied odds to draw to a set, calling here is one thing but you aren't. I'd prefer a limp then push over the top of this raise than a limp call. |

Re: (55) fishy limp-call?
I think so. Under 2:1 pot odds to basically call for a set. Without a read, the only non-pair I see him raising a bunch of limpers OOP with is AK. Most likely you're a 4:1 dog though. If he did this with a small pair, tip your hat to him and take his money later.

Re: (55) fishy limp-call?
1) I like when you say there were no reads. This is more realistic for multitablers. Unless I notice a particular donk or regular, it's usually my situation that I have no reads in situations such as this.
2) I instafold this facing the raise, assuming there's not a read that tells me not to. See #1. |

Re: (55) fishy limp-call?
yeah, i hated this call as soon as i made it. i thought in the moment that it would be profitable to get it in on any non-A flop (except stuff like KQT) and fold otherwise, but in retrospect i agree that i'm drawing to 2 7's too often.
the flop came AKQ, villain pushed, i folded, and he showed AQ. |

Re: (55) fishy limp-call?
77 is not typically a calling hand unless you are getting odds to hit your set. I would fold this again almost all raises.

Not to bug the OP, but to make sure he never does this again. |
