Default Direcway for multitabling?

Well I got myself into a real jam. I'm a week away from closing on a house. I checked a while back and charter offered cable internet service. Online poker is my job so high speed is a must. Anyway I double checked today and charter sold that business to another company, and the other company does not offer high speed internet. The whole thing sounds weird to me but anyway I can't find anyone that offers high speed service. So my options are to not buy the house or to get direcway. Or I guess I could try dial up but that doesn't sound too appealing.

Anyone have experience 4-6 tabling with direcway? Help asap is appreciated since I need to decide what to do about the house.

DIRECWAY PROFESSIONAL service plan is designed for home-based business owners who use personal and business applications, who need to support up to two users at a time, and frequently download large files from the Internet. This plan offers download speeds of 1 Mbps and upload speeds of 200 Kbps. 15 month commitment required. Price after 15 months is 69.99/month.

You don't need to be worried about the speed, just the latency. You might want to ask somebody that uses the service what the latency is like playing online poker (or just browsing the net)

Stated speeds are not guaranteed. Actual upload speed will likely be lower than speed indicated during peak hours. Download speeds may also be temporarily slowed in cases when patterns of system usage exceed the download threshold for an extended period of time. See the DIRECWAY Fair Access Policy for more information. If you choose to run VPN over satellite, your data speeds may be reduced by as much as 50-75%. Despite the high speeds available through DIRECWAY, time-sensitive applications, such as multi-player twitch games, are also not recommended over DIRECWAY.

16) Q: What is transmission latency?

A: Latency refers to the amount of time it takes a packet of data to travel across a network. With satellite service, that data must travel up to the satellite and back (about 45,000 miles). This round trip adds about a half-second delay to the total time your computer takes to communicate with a Website or host server. Therefore, time-sensitive applications that require fractions-of-a-second user inputs (such as multi-player “twitch” games or real-time equities trading) are not recommended with DIRECWAY.

I used to have directway and I was able to multi-table on party with minimal issues. At times I would time out which was quite annoying. I never did 6 tables at a time.

I guess since you said minimal issues you did not time out very often?

Default What their customer support told me

Direcway CS said that the delay was 0.5 seconds when I asked about latency. They don't recommend that you use it for things like xbox live since a 0.5 second delay is a big issue there. I explained the poker thing to them and they said it would be fine. I also found out that the internet signal is much stronger than the tv signal and should only be affected by a bad storm.

I'm still hoping to hear from people that have used the service or are knowledgable in this area. This whole thing has been a little unsettling so I'd like to hear as many opinions as possible.

Thanks

I've been using this for about 1.5 yrs.

You can 4-6-8 table whatever.

It will go down on bad weather, maybe 2 times a month. Until the worst part of the storm passes.

There is a bit of lag, but no big deal for poker purposes.

I will leave this link, it is for the Canadian service, which was Direcway.

What you should look at is the K or KU band service, (whatever the equivalent is in the US) its newer, faster and cheaper, than the old (my current) direcway service.
