Re: Pocket AA question.
[ QUOTE ]
In order to avoid posts looking like bad beat posts, don't post the results. There is no reason for us to know the turn and river. None at all. Knowing his hand may be interesting, but is not necessary either, especially in the first post. Reply with his hand later maybe. [/ QUOTE ] Ok, thanks for the heads-up. I had seen this done both ways and figured, the more information, the better. --propaganda |

Re: Pocket AA question.
[ QUOTE ]
yes you want to get all your money in before the flop with AA. [/ QUOTE ] I meant jamming the pot post-flop, in that situation. Wouldn't jamming the pot pre-flop just chase people out? --propaganda |

Re: Pocket AA question.
sorry i was a little too vague...my fault...if there are couple of raises or a raise and a bunch of calls THEN get your money in..you will probably have a call or two and of course you have the best of it .//

Re: Pocket AA question.
[ QUOTE ]
It's just been my (limited) experience that people tend not to jam the pot with TPGK. Usually, when someone comes over the top on me like that, they have 2 pair or a set. [/ QUOTE ] What level do you play? I play at the dizzing heights of $5.50 on UB, and I see people push with lezs than TPGK into pf raisers frequently. If the pusher has been playing few hands and not getting out of line, I am much more likely to give him credit for a big hand, but for the average joe, I don't assume he has the goods just cos he pushed. |

Re: Pocket AA question.
[ QUOTE ]
Umm, no it isn't, this should have been made clear by my response to 11t, but you were probably too busy flaming me to bother reading that. I wanted to know if I should have played it differently. If you're not going to say anything constructive, then don't say anything. I'm new to the game, and very new to these forums, so excuse me for asking a damn question. --propaganda [/ QUOTE ] I was implying that you played the hand fine but also that had you won this hand you probably would not've posted it. I don't mean to flame, but this sortof thing gets posted over and over; I probably posted one myself when I started out here. A word of advice: don't take too much offense to stuff some people on here have to say. Alot of us are just asses and don't really mean any harm. That's the best way to get yourself disliked that I can think of, especially as a n00b. Good luck and welcome to the forums. |

Of course, when he spiked the third ten, my enthusiasm died , but these things happen. --propaganda |

Re: Pocket AA question.
I know that things happen. Hell, I've laid enough bad beats on others that I give up all rights to complain about those laid on me. In fact, often, when I am the victim of a beat, I wonder if there was something I could have done to save some chips. In other words, I don't automatically assign full blame for my loss to my opponent.
Regarding not posting if I had won, you're right, I'd have assumed I played the hand correctly until I get enough skill to judge otherwise. As for not taking things too personally. I try to treat everyone with respect, as can be seen by the few posts I've made here. However, if someone takes a shot at me, I'm firing both barrels right back at them. I don't care how long they've been on the board, or how many people aren't going to like me for it. I've found that on the few boards I take part in, it's best not to take too much crap. I gather you meant no harm in the statements you made, so you have my appology for going off. --propaganda |

You were unlucky, deal with it, it happens. That's poker. Suck it up and move on.
