Speaking of Devil's Advocate...what are the chances that this email exchange, funny as it is, is a hoax?

[/ QUOTE ] it seems pretty believable to me. it actually reminds me a lot of a girl i know doing something similar once. she was dating some dude for awhile, and then he started to be really 'busy' and not return her phone calls etc. eventually she broke up with him over his voice mail. but then she writes up some big post about it on craigslist "to the guy whose voice mail i broke up with" or something like that. exact same tone as this guy has in his email. you know, basically "i never liked you anyway, and you suck. here are the many reasons why." .. expressed all well thought out and 'witty'-like. and sent the URL to all her friends. i think people just do things like this to feel better and get high-fives. they do provide a good read, but i'm not sure what i think about them for feeling the need to do it. |

Indeed, me too. I definitely wouldn't go there.
And if I knew the girl or guy who did one of those and spread the word to the internet, I'd definitely stay away from her and warn all the guys I knew, too. Maybe just under the guise of "keeping the joke current." She/he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword. |

If the initial story is true, more power to the guy for getting the last laugh in. |

If the initial story is true, more power to the guy for getting the last laugh in. [/ QUOTE ] hi, i don't think i implied it was (i didn't even go into any detail of the story, just the fact that it happened). i wasn't comparing the events that lead up to the "funny hurtful public messages".. i was simply referring to the action itself, of writing the hurtful message and sending it to everyone for high-fives, as a way to get back at someone. which was the exact same thing. i wasn't trying to prove a point, it just reminded me of that story and i was just saying i thought it was believable, because people do things like this. |
