Best firewalls - antivirus - antiadware/spyware software

Hello all,

I am loooking for good firewall, antivirus program and sth for spyware and adware (I use adaware right now, been using free zonealarm and some online antivirus scanners).
I would like them to be free but I may buy really good products.
Any suggestions ?

Please I need help.
My internet connection is terribly slow and getting worse.
It looks like i have numerous ports being opened by someone and my system slows down terribly.
I only have PokerTracker, Gametime and Empire on my computer.
How do I stop this ?

You need a firewall. ZoneAlarm should be doing this for you. Better to use an external firewall provided by a router (like a LinkSys box), since it offloads the firewall processing from your computer.

I prefer Kaspersky for antivirus but Antivir is the best free one. For a firewall a hardware firewall + windows firewall seems plenty for a desktop. A laptop could use a software firewall though since you might not always be behind a hardware one.
