i dont actively monitor the tables that im mining, so it doesnt really matter if i choose specific players. I have no way of being sure they'll stick around for long periods of time. I play NL, so maybe its different at limit

I don't put any thought process into it. If I'm going to be away for a few hours, I open up the tables, set the minimum players=7, and leave it alone until I get back. I'll frequently do it overnight also.

I think you have to use the HHs that are saved to your hard drive. Get the latest PT patch and then click the thing that says "configure for observed hand histories"

I pick the table with biggest waiting list if I'm going to data mine for several reasons:

This game will be unlikely to break up for a long time.

This game probably features a few maniacs/horrible cold callers that I would like to have information on.

This game might attract some good or rockish players. I would like to have their information also.

I play $100 NL 6 Max on Party. Is is worthwhile mining in these games or is it primarily a limit thing?

When playing ring games I'll look for tables that have the highest percentage of preflop callers.....If there are 2 or more with approximately the same percentage I'll chose the one with the highest amount of betting...
