Against just one player and with 5.5 BB already in the pot I call this down with any spade.

How loose is the villian for limping? If he is loose, and you take into account that he isn't holding the 5,6, 8, or A of spades, your 9 is just under the halfway mark for the spades that he could have. Depending on how aggro he is in the face of the most obvious flushes, you can also estimate the likelyhood that he has any spade at all. That being said, you probably shouldn't be throwing your flush away.

Aye, raise preflop. Turn/river seem like an easy calldown IMO. Not only do only 4 cards in the deck beat you, you're SH, heads-up, and getting odds. Vilian doesn't have to have a flush, why not a set, 2-pair, or anything he decided to bluff with since you both checked the turn???

If UTG was decent I could find a check/fold, but against a relative unknown id rather bet/fold than check/call
