I was thinking that as well. But, I thought the stop n go might give me some folding equity as I would be first to act after the flop.

Agreed. But more importantly, the Random Card Generator is not going to generate an Ace or a Queen unless you get it all in pre flop.

The results would have still been the same. Grumzilla turns out to have jacks and would have called regardless. But, either way I was getting my money in. I was just hoping he might fold on the flop with two overs, but I know better now at how this maniac plays. I can't wait to play him again. Any one else here play grumpzilla?

There isn't much info to add except Villian has been very aggressive and raised and come over the top before.

Edit: no flaming

Then why not re-raise preflop?

You are setting a trap here but when he steps into it you won't spring it.

I like pushing this preflop.

Gump is very good. I have more trouble against him than any other player at the trout games, and that is not disrespecting the rest of them because I think they all play very very tough.

I felt I had two moves here, and grump is very aggressive. Go all in PF and it might be a race. Or the stop n Go. Turns out with either move, the results would have been the same. I think if I would have reraised grump would have pushed. So I think I was going to hell in this hand regardless. I suppose I could have checked the flop, but that is so weak tight. AHHHHHH

i don't like this play. once he calls the 4 x bb raise PF you have to think about what hands he would have called with pre-flop, that he didn't re-raise pre-flop, that he won't call this post flop push... that range is primarily hands that you are far behind most of the time.

I'd put him on AA-99/88, AK, AQ pre-flop...there are still 6 players left.

I think a 2+2er can release a lot of hands if you limp->reraise all-in preflop. Yes he is getting pretty decent pot odds but if you reraise here that is a very strong play.

Of course it is possible that he wants you to come over the top here.

And more importantly. A stop'n'go against a 2+2er is pretty useless most of the time. It is hardly a subtle move. If I was the villain here I would interpret it as you missing the flop.

Your right. I should have put him on a pair with the his prior history at the table, and check folded if an an ace or a queen didn't show.
