The party misconception and why it is better to join other networks
I want to clear out a huge misconception. What you here a lot at two plus two is that "the pro’s will go to where the fish is", which is true, but that this somehow implies that they therefore will go to Partypoker. This is just not true.
Sure there are lots of fish at Party, but hey they are growing at a slower rate than almost any other poker room. Just look at the sites connected to sportsbetting that is where you find the new fish. There are plenty of other sites that are running great promotions to attract new players. Look at the network run by boss media (ipn), which has come from nothing to +2000 players / evening in less than a year. I would say that most of the other networks outside Party are attracting more fish, an exception might be Stars and Ultimate Bet (which are more seasoned), so “Why give up the rakeback, when you can have bigger fish and better rakebacks at other sites” The reason to have played at Party was not really the fish, but the great integration of pokertracker, game+ etc. but the support for other sites have improved greatly, so there is no longer any need to be restricted to Party. That is why I stand behind those who will no longer (also on principle) accept huge rakes taken out of my profits every month. Now I know that I can have even bigger fish +bonus / rakeback. So Party, join the club and offer better loyalty programs or keep loosing valuable customers. |

I agree that a number of the smaller sites are worth playing.

Re: The party misconception and why it is better to join other network
The thing that has amused me about this whole Party thing is the idea that Party is the only game in town. It most certainly is not.
I've played on a lot of other sites, and I can assure you that I am doing just fine. It's true. Believe it or not I also get rakeback at other places!! Really!! People need to chill out. |

Google "network effect" for an understanding of why Party is so dominant.

Sometimes that actual number IS more important than the rate.

I never did like Party but people think it's the only site, I guess.

Re: The party misconception and why it is better to join other networks
I'll give you three networks that sure has more fish than party:
B2B (unibet, 24hpoker) IPN (all kind of new on and offline casinos) iPoker (Noble Poker) I am not promoting these sites, but a clear observation is that they are growing fast in contrast to Partys recent negative growth rates. When other sites seem to lower the rake through bonus programs / rakebacks, party goes the other way and increase the rake. |
