Default My first $55 on the bubble

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Hero (t1460)
UTG (t4465)
Button (t2165)
SB (t1910)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to t450</font>, Hero??

The villian played kind of similar to myself. He was short stacked until the blinds hit 75/150, then he doubled up twice. Most of the table was pretty wild, but he seemed pretty tame.

eh, tough spot splash. if he's reasonable (which it sounds like he is), you have pa-lenty of FE to fire back here.

If he's similar to yourself, he would probably push a marginal hand here.. wouldn't he? As you have 10bb and all that. But in a vacuum or without good reads, I would probably push this.

Ok, I'll probably be posting a lot of hands like this. I need to get a grasp of having 1000 starting chips. I pushed this hand. He took virtually ALL OF HIS TIME. Then called with 99, I don't hit, and I'm out in 4th.

Huh? He'd have to call 1010 to win 2920, and he's got you covered. Virtually zero FE, I would think.

It's close, but I tend to let this one go on the bubble.

Anyone who makes that sort of a raise without a very big starting hand is also the kind of player who folds getting proper pot odds to call. I see this type of play less now at the 55's than when I played the 33's, but it's there for sure. I have no problem with either pushing or folding, and I'm sure you can invent reasonable hand ranges based on your read so far to justify either one. When he calls with 99, you win Sklansky$.

Hang on, he raised to 450 so 600 total? I thought he had raised to 300 making the amount he had put in 450. That changes things a bit if it's the former.
