Default Stuck in a rut / Bankroll flatlining

Ive been building my bankroll for a few months now and i've noticed that there have been two period where my account growth has flatlined and stayed still for weeks on end.

This happened originally a around the 800-900 level and now again at the 2300-2700 level (I'm playing at the pp NL100). Now I know variance has a lot to do with this type of thing, but i can't help feeling like its part mental too.

What I'm wondering basically is how many people have these long stretchs where they don't necessarily lose much but they just seem to hover, and how they think it affects there game and mentality.

Ya I had this happen around the same levels you did. Take a hard look at your Poker Tracker stats and see if you can find a leak. If you can't find one, then maybe drop down a level or try out a new site. Also just focus on clearing bonuses that will take your mind off your stagnant win rate.

Try a new game to get your mind of HE. When you come back you'll be fresh and see things in a new light. When I need a break I usually play either SnG's (basically a different game with similar rules) or if I really need a break I'll play some O8.

I find after 2 or 3 days playing another game I come back to NLHE much sharper.

Ya, my last 6 weeks have been two 3 week periods of:

Hover, hover, limp up, limp down, hover, heater, heater.

Repeat.

I flatlined once for 4 weeks when i was learning limit. I sat on the cusp of 2k playing 2/4 watching my balance get within a hair of 2k then i'd lose a pot, then 2, then 3 and be trying for that arbitrary mark of 2k all over again. Eventually I won a 10k tourney and blew my bankroll targets all away. Stupidly, moved to 5/10 too soon and lost 2k b4 I switched back and paid my 2/4 dues.

I take money off my roll every week now so I never have a target anymore.
