Most 19 inch CRTs can run at 1600x1200 and are a lot cheaper than $579. I dunno, check Newegg.com.

Geez....shouldn't be too hard to get one of the Dell 2001FP's (21") for cheaper than that.

$579 is a bit much for only a 19" flat-screen imo.
You should be able to get a Dell 21" monitor for less than $500.

Check at Office Max or Fry's Electronics (or someplace similar), you should be able to find a 19" 1600x1200 CRT for about $100-$150.

Well yeah...if he's willing to go with a CRT instead of a flat then he can do MUCH cheaper than $579.

Default Yes it has to be LCD

I should have mentioned it has to be an LCD. MicroBob this was either a 19 or a 20' LCD for $579. Samsung. I will check out the Dell, thanks

I paid $501.75 for a 2001FP, new, direct from Dell, delivered.

Few weeks ago, someone mentioned that Costco sells a 20" LCD that supports 1600x1200. Price is $449.99, but don't know how much shipping will cost.
