Default On the Bubble in an 11

Seat 1: Win_I_Die ( $3485 )
Seat 2: Prosvet ( $475 )
Seat 5: Burt_2r ( $2990 )
Seat 9: Xenod ( $1050 )
Trny:17004874 Level:4
Blinds(50/100)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Xenod [ Td Th ]
Win_I_Die folds.
Prosvet folds.
Burt_2r raises [250].

I'm on the big blind. I thought long and hard before I acted here and am not entirely sure I did the right thing. I'm pretty sure it's push or fold here.

Reraise all in. He's almost sure to fold since the short stack is so short.

Stop and go sucks here. Don't give him a cheap flop to catch some overcards.

.. and you can't stop and go. You're acting after him, he's in the small blind.

I think it's close, this, but I would probably push in a game situation.

I totally agree with a push. There's a great chance the guy folds and if he doesn't, TT is too good 4handed to just dump in the face of what could easily be a steal attempt.

Hold your breath and push those chips in.

Ended up pushing. He turned over AQ and caught a couple of Aces. Pretty representative of how things have been going lately...

That's how it goes. Playing scared, results-oriented poker is only going to hurt you in the long run though. So you took a tough hit in the short run. It happens.

Do the same thing next time too. It was the right play.

Agreed. If the 475 stack had a lot less chips, like say 200, then I could see an argument for maybe folding. As it is, he still has 5bb, and you're a long way from ITM, as one double up and he's back to your stack.

And now for a contrary, female opinion:

I do not agree that it is push or fold here. Under the circumstances, I really would not knowingly want to engage in a coin flip with Burt_2r. My decision would be based on my read of this player.

If he is a good 11 player, I would put him on a superior or coin flip hand and fold.

If he is an average 11 player, I would put him on a coin flip to slightly inferior hand, call, and trust myself to do the right thing after I see the flop and Burt_2r's next action.

If he is a poor player, I would put him on a random hand and move all in preflop.

If I am to assume you had no read at all on Burt_2r at this point, then I would recommend you lean to the safe side and fold the tens.
