Re: a river bluff checkraise
[ QUOTE ]
i dont really see your average 3/6 player c/ring a multiway flop with something hes capable of bet/folding on the river [/ QUOTE ] What about the fact that he checked the turn? Just a whiffed checkraise, in your opinion? -McGee |

Re: a river bluff raise
[ QUOTE ]
I fold preflop on all but the best/passivist tables [/ QUOTE ] In my experience (playing on and off with varying levels of seriousness and frequency for two and a half years), QTo is a profitable hand in late position, regardless of the number of limpers in front. I don't play it every time, but when I find that I can't, I start to look for a new game. -McGee |

Re: a river bluff raise

Why not bet the flop? [/ QUOTE ] I considered it. But I feared a checkraise, and was so close to a free card that I was pretty sure I'd need, so I checked. I'm open to arguments as to why I should bet, though. -McGee |

Re: a river bluff raise
You're close to the free card, but you easily have the odds to call a bet for your gutshot, and as it turned out 2 bets for your gutshot. Betting may buy you the button and a free river card. Two cards for 1 small bet is far better than 1 card for 0 small bets.

How often do you think I'm getting checkraised?

How often do you think I'm getting checkraised? -McGee [/ QUOTE ] Hard to say. And it would definitely suck to have folded the button, gotten check-raised, and folded out the intervening yahoos. I'm not saying I would have bet the flop, by the way. Just giving an argument for it. |

Re: a river bluff raise
Although you have odds to call for a gutshot when c/r'd, you're better off not calling that.
What do you gain from betting the flop? Are you buying any outs? Improving your chance of winning? You aren't winning w/o showdown more than 1% of the time. It's obviously not for value. |

Granted our hands is not quite as strong here, but I think the concepts apply perfectly. |

How often do you think I'm getting checkraised? -McGee [/ QUOTE ] I hope you read through all the posts in that link I put in here. It was good stuff in there with me screeming over and over again "take the free card on the flop!" A c/r from some players could actually really help you here. |
