If Bell Gardens is Beautiful, then Santa Ana does have a Horse Track. Logic 101

The putative "stop bet" that the guy put in earlier may not have been a bad play. He was on a draw and were three players behind him. The multiple opponents might (MIGHT) have made it less likely that he would be able to get a free card by checking. They also provided him some protection. The lady with the top pair might have come over the top if they were heads-up, but with two others behind her, she had other concerns besides the weak bet that the guy put in out of position. It makes a lot more sense than a lot of other "stop bets" that have been recommended here.

I'm not at all sure that's what he had in mind though. He made a weak bet on the river also after he missed his draw. I think he was semi-bluffing on the first play and bluffing on the end. The term "post oak" springs to mind.

Is it customary to tip the dealer on a chop pot?

I always tip on any pot I win, i mean all the dealers dont make money on salary, they make most of their money on tips...so even if its a buck or 3 bucks i always tip...cause imagine u winning a 50 dollar pot, a couple bucks aint gonna hurt u...so TIP...
