Default starting hands for a shorthanded table

I have been using the starting hand charts from Sklansky's Low Limit Holdem book. The seem to work well for me. I would like to find out if anybody has some suggestions for making adjustments for short handed play. Many times, early in the morning, many of the tables are four to six handed. There will usually be one or two pros who really know how to play shorthanded and are aggresive, raising frequently. If I play to tight, I get blinded to death. Any suggestions?
