Default omaha h/l help

We are playing a game and have a small dispute. which is the better low hand in omaha.
Community = K 7 5 10 4
hand 1 = A 8
hand 2 = 2 3

You can post this in one of the Omaha forums next time, and probably get more answers.

I had a similar situation happen in a home game once, and had a hard time verbalizing WHY hand two was lower. To the other players, it was hard for them to believe that a hand with an Ace could be beat by a hand without one.

But the easiest way to think about it, is as one solid number. In your example, with an Ace counting as a 1, then hand one, an 8754A low, can be viewed as 87,541. Hand two, 75432, then becomes 75,432. Of course 75,432 is lower than 87,541. Just an easy trick to show the difference.
