OK, so since I did, and he showed 45 sooted for two pair that filled up on the turn, I'm no donk, right (I'm just starting NL cash games, so sorry for wasting time, if I am).

Its only 26 to call so you should call but remember fundamental rule of no-limit :
"big bet usually means big hand".

Best wishes

Nah, in general putting in ~50bb on an AA,KK overpair is never a big mistake.

I think I still would've called and you can't blame yourself but with that bet I would be thinking he's got a set of 5s or open-ended straight draw with something like 6-7 suited (close to what he had) and I could be in real trouble even if I hit a king. In Supersystem Doyle Brunson talks about how he loves to play those type of hands and I generally try to if it's cheap and I can limp and call a smaller raise which is what happened here (3x BB bet is what you did I think). I also probably would've tried to bet half the pot on the flop not the pot but I'm a wuss with my betting and generally don't get aggressive enough in situations like this - I bet most people would say bet the pot to price people out. But him coming over the top to your larger bet smells like trouble and you're putting all your chips in right?
