Party $215 Friday MTT Report
Hey all, I finished 21st in tonight's $215 MTT on Party and I wrote a report on it here:
$215 Tourney Report I have a couple hands from this tournament I would like opinions on: Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t1000 (9 handed) converter MP1 (t11180) MP2 (t9600) MP3 (t3933) CO (t18346) Button (t6330) Hero (t18129) BB (t11240) UTG (t8029) UTG+1 (t10023) Preflop: Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 7 folds, Hero raises to t2600, BB calls t1600. Flop: (t5200) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets t3000, BB raises to t8500, Hero ??? Based on pure pot-odds, and considering that there is some small chance he's bluffing and hitting a 5 or 4 may win me the pot - am I committed here? Next: Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t1500 (7 handed) converter MP1 (t79507) MP2 (t16320) CO (t13440) Button (t27213) SB (t18670) Hero (t14029) UTG (t23745) Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls t1500, 5 folds, Hero checks. Flop: (t3750) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, UTG bets t1500, Hero raises to t3000 Is this min-raise here ever going to work? The Villian was a pretty tight, decent player who wasn't getting out of line. Should I just let it go, or if I want the pot, just push instead? I wanted to eat my cake and have it too by min-raising and winning the pot in the event he doesn't have an ace, while being able to fold if he does call or reraise, and still have a stack left. Any comments would be appreciated. |

Good job. Pep. |

Re: Party $215 Friday MTT Report
Hand one: I think this is an example of a Cash game call/tourney fold. You are getting 2.04:1 on your money, and a striaght hits 31% of the time. You need to win 32.9% of the time to be neutral EV. Add in the 10% pure bluff (which still has you beat, but gives you 6 more outs) you gain exactly 2% equity giving you 33%. Neutral or slighly positive EV (also bluff frequency on this board may be slightly higher).
In a tourney, I fold. Hand 2. Yes, the min-raise does work sometimes, but this is a very ineffective bluff. I love getting myself in trouble by calling the flop bet and then chk/rzing the turn. If he checks behind on the turn, push the river instead. Not a bad bluff situation. (who limps with a lone ace UTG???) CSC |

Re: Party $215 Friday MTT Report
Yeah that's what I was thinking CSC... I thought it was unlikely he had an ace. Who knows, maybe I got rebluffed?
