Default Stars Experimental Awards?

I tried to locate information on what exactly is "experimental" about it. Can someone clue me in?

pays to top 20% instead of top 10%.

It says so in the tourney-lobby and under tourney-info.

I'm playing it, just for the heck of it.
Personally, I think top 10% is plenty, but I'd like to see it less top heavy to the final table.

How about 50% of the prize pool to the the top 20% and the other 50% to the other 80?

Instead, in a 1000 person tournament 72% of the prize pool goes to the top 10, and the other 90 splits up the remaining 18% of the pool.

I mean 80% of those making the money, in the above example, the top 10% of the players that make the money take 72% of the pool
