Re: Is there a TOC & when & who\'s playing?
My guess is probably not until they get through the rest of the newly added WSOP Circuit events. This year won't be an invitational; since they have the points system now.

Re: Is there a TOC & when & who\'s playing?
I believe the TOC for 2005 will be held next month, but it's not set in stone yet. It consists of the top 20 in points at each of the 5 WSOP Circuit events, and the final table of the WSOP ME. The 2006 TOC will have the 12 WSOP Circuit ME winners, the 2006 WSOP ME final table, and 6 special invitations.

Thanks, Kev. I wasn't too sure about it myself, thanks for filling us in.

OK, is there a list of the top 20 in points anywhere? Will Raymer be included? Ivey? Greenstein?
Anyone know the list of players? |

Re: Is there a TOC & when & who\'s playing?
Ivey will be in because of his Rio final table. You can count on the final table for each Circuit event, plus another 10-13 more per Circuit event. The points system was used for all the tournaments at each Circuit event. The worldseriesofpoker.com site has the TOC qualifiers for Rio (27 because of ties), Rincon, and AC.

Re: Is there a TOC & when & who\'s playing?
I'm not in unless they start doing some kind of special invite, and happen to choose me. If they do, I will humbly accept. ;-)

Re: Is there a TOC & when & who\'s playing?
It's uncanny how much easier it was to get into the 2005 TOC through a circuit championship than through the WSOP main event. The top 20 "point finishers" from each circuit series were really just the top 20 placed in the Main Event of that series, and of course the fields were much smaller than the WSOP ME. It' sort of criminal if Allen Cunningham and Mark Seif don't get to play the freeroll (they may have qualified in the circuit events, but as far as I read the criteria, won't get an invite into the TOC based on their performances over the summer).
Notably, no one seems to know when--or even if--this year's TOC will take place. My friend qualified, but has been trying unsuccesfully to find out when/where it is; the details remain a mystery. I've even heard it suggested that they'll cancel the whole thing and ship all the qualifiers 20K. |

Re: Is there a TOC & when & who\'s playing?
According to the website, Cunningham did finish in the top 20 at the Rio Circuit event. The first TOC was too small, if this year's TOC ever takes place, it was too big, the 2006 TOC should be just right as I mentioned earlier in the thread
